Developmental Center of the Ozarks
Developmental Center of the Ozarks (DCO) works in the Springfield community with infants, children and adults with (and without) developmental disabilities, providing therapies, education and habilitative programs.
We were excited to work with DCO as our 2023 Philanthropic Partner of the Year. Our goal was to provide this organization with a website that better reflected its mission, services and values.
A New Look for a Storied Organization
DCO’s website had become increasingly difficult to navigate and update internally. We wanted to empower the nonprofit with a redesigned website that would be easier for users to navigate, allow for faster internal maintenance and better tell the organization’s story.
To show the heart of DCO, we put participants, volunteers and staff front and center with updated photography. In addition to new images, we completely rebuilt and redesigned the website to show the fun, creative learning environment the center wants to provide for each participant. Additional illustrated elements and reorganized content made the website more user-friendly and gave it a better mobile experience.
An Award-winning Effort
The new DCO website was recognized for its excellent design by the American Advertising Federation (AAF) Heartland with the 2024 Silver Consumer Website ADDY Award.

The Heart of DCO
One of our goals for the new site was to feature real people that DCO serves daily. To meet this goal, we needed new photography. In close collaboration with DCO staff, we visited the center to capture impactful images of participants and the facility.
